population
& I
are trapped in a battle
of wills.

Lines have been crossed.

A mere layered roll
of chicken wire
buffers my vegetable garden
from the fruits
of their desire.

A 22 caliber
between the eyes
would eliminate the stand-off
& rid me
of the bane of my existence.

I tossed the gun
in the trash.
