In this memory you picked me
up from my parents house.
Your scent filled the car
and your hand filled my hand.
Evermore,
I sat and looked at you
and thought “I should savor
this moment”.
You laughed and said those words.
Realizing we skipped a step,
you stopped at a stop sign, leaned over,
and kissed me.

Shaquana Adams is an internationally published poet with a fondness for the color purple. She is quiet on the outside but goofy on the inside and writes because the best thing about writing is that she can say what she needs to say. It is an awesome experience.
