the red buds
dance on bare branches
against grey skies
and sunshine
but I have yet to see the
rainbow
birthed from all this rainshine,
and as I wait
it seems even the birds have
gone quiet
quivering in anticipation
of the same moment;
all this waiting—
life is a balancing act of holding on and
letting go,
but oft I feel I've held on far too long
just want to spread my wings and fly away
make my own rainbows.
