In Memoriam

his dimples
small caves of happiness
opening up to his soul
inviting careful onlookers

his long lashes
curtains to his eyes
highlighting his smiles
shadowing his thoughts

in the absence of all else
only these two remain
he’s gone, but still l try to figure out
where his dimples and lashes went
